Hudson Fen October 2025

27/10/2025

The three brush cutters David, Tom and Charles started at 9.00 am to cut the long grass and soft perennials in a glade on Hudson Fen. This would allow other species to grow as advised by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. Once one side of the area had been cut, the brush cutters moved to the uncut area while the remaining volunteers were then able to rake up the cut vegetation, piling it on tarpaulins and transferred to the side of the site. The assistance of Gemma, Clerk to the Grimston Fen and Allotment Trust and her two young daughters was welcomed. John thanked the volunteers for their contribution.
