RSPCA Wildlife Hospital, East Winch.
A sunny morning, over 20 volunteers and a task of mulching a large number of saplings at the front of the hospital.
Grass had grown quite thick around the lines of trees, so the first job was to remove the turf forming a trench along the treeline.
Any dead or missing trees were replaced by other saplings that had been planted sporadically.
A scattering of fertiliser, putting compost in the trench, cutting and placing a pervious membrane and then mulching the area.
Over coffee we were able to discuss the role of the hospital with the staff, while watching some of the seals in the pools awaiting their return to the sea.
Evangelos, the manager, was so pleased over the work we had done this morning and thanked us.
