Volunteers met at Snettisham Common and proceeded to a former sand quarry. Gorse and Bramble were removed by brush cutter on the slope leading into the quarry and this was raked to one side. The side walls of the quarry had holes made by an earlier population of Sand Martins, now had their access blocked by tall Gorse and Sycamore. These were cut down in the hope it would encourage the Sand Martins to return. Also, in the stone walls were numerous holes made by Bees, which at this time of year were probably hibernating. Three Beetle Houses were made in the ground. John thanked the volunteers for their hard work this morning.
