The Walks Island
Volunteers met on the Walks on the 07.11.22. The task was to cut down and place into piles Bramble and Suckers on the island. The volunteers concentrated on the edges of The Island where most of the Bramble had grown. The cut Bramble were placed in piles to provide cover for small mammals and insects. Some of the lower stems of the Ivy on the trunks of trees where it had reached the crown of the trees, was also cut leaving a 10cm gap between the upper and lower half of the cut stem. The Group worked up The Island but heavy rain at end of the morning prevented the clearing being undertaken to the full length of The Island.
