Walk over Dersingham Bog

13/05/2024

A lovely warm morning , with a light mist lying across Dersingham Bog greeted volunteers for a guided walk by Natural England staff.

The group were taken to the heathland and shown that their work removing Pine and Birch had cleared the Heather so it was more conducive to ground nesting birds.
So far Nightjars and 2 pairs of Woodlarks have been monitored this year amongst other species. A Beautiful Lattice heath Moth was also seen as it alighted on a volunteer.
John thanked the Natural England staff for their time at the end of the morningĀ
